When did non-traditional become a dirty word?  Once again it seems that “non-traditional” higher education is regarded as somehow non-acceptable and that only the most rigid and “normal” approaches to education are acknowledged.  What will this resistance to non-traditional education mean for the variety and breadth of higher education.     Non-traditional should mean regionally accredited, or the equivalent, but innovative. The entire field of distance education was built on non-traditional approaches which apply cutting edge technology or theory to accepted academic programs. k
